While trick-or-treating with his older brother, Sam Winchester manages to escape Dean's presence and head off on his own, leaving Dean to be sent into a frenzied panic when he realizes his brother is missing. After desperately and unsuccessfully searching for him, Dean calls his best friend, Castiel, to help him search. The only problem? Dean is kind-of-sort-of-completely in love with him.

Dean couldn't help but feel an ache in his chest every time he sees him, but he had no clue why. Castiel Novak only had two years of school left before he could finally escape the hell that is Sioux Falls High School. Every since he moved here he's had a hard time making friends. After all, being gay wasn't a good thing to be at his school. He would constantly get mentally and emotionally abused by his classmates. Two more years, he kept telling himself, and then he would graduate and get a degree in fine arts. When the new English teacher, Mr. Winchester, shows up Castiel immediately takes interest. Maybe, it was his gorgeous Emerald green eyes, or his ashy blonde hair that was always spiked up perfectly. Whatever it was, Castiel knew he would like this new teacher.
