  I lift my eyes to meet her gaze, wondering about the reason for this unexpected talk. "Yes, Mom" I reply.
She walks towards the door, her pink satin robe flowing behind her. " Night, bub" she whispers softly, switching off the lights and disappearing into the vast darkness of the hall.
