Written in first person, this story follows the life of a young up and coming Forensic Psychologist, Dr. Regan Callahan. 

She started working with the NYPD in the Manhattan Special Victims Unit- she is contracted out by the FBI; she is on the path to become a special agent as well. 

She gets an offer to work with the Chicago PD, via her job with the FBI. She reluctantly takes it, as long as she can still be contracted with the SVU. 

Her journey as a doctor and a young women will be altered by the people in her life, and the love she finds unexpectedly.
