Everyone is destined to play out a role in a tale, a random magical story which is decided for you by the "Tale-Master". For as long as she can remember Dawn has wanted to be the princess, her sister Luna doesn't care what she becomes, as long as she isn't the centre of attention. Unfortunately, things go awry when Luna becomes the princess and Dawn is forced to be a common peasant, much to her disgust. Both girls end up running away from their roles. What was supposed to be a fairy-tale has gone horribly wrong, and to make things worse something is now hunting them...

"As soon as you believe you are a monster is when you become one." After many years of war, the kingdom of Edria is finally in an era of peace--peace obtained by one thing and one thing only. A deal. King Regol has made a deal with the devil, or rather, a beast. A monster. Or so he claims.
