"Drop it." He said. "You drop yours." My voice wavered. The light glimmered on one side of his face, the rest engulfed with darkness. Somewhere behind the barrel of his gun, I could see the pain in his eyes, the betrayal. I was on the verge of tears. This was all too much for one day. My eyes scanned the cardboard covered floor, searching for a way out of this mess. There was no way in hell I was going down like this. I knew there was a window behind me, and a long drop until I would hit the ground. But there was no other option, I had to do it even if I risked losing my guard to Cole. "You were lying to me this entire time." He shouted, his voice grating. I closed my eyes winching at his aggravated voice. "You lied to me too, Cole." I whispered. It felt like someone was stabbing me in the stomach with a knife. "You're gang is trying to take over my kingdom! Blackmail my family! Torture those poor villagers! What do you think I would do?" He was silent, and his barrier almost broke. "Some people do bad things for good reasons, Anna." Cole croaked. "You were the one trying to get your hands on me!" I shouted, fueled with pain. I cocked my gun back still pointing at Cole, as his did to me. Fight or flight time. It was now or never. Adrenaline rushed through me as I launched out of the shattered hole through the window in my dress, slicing my torso on a piece of glass on my way through. I cried in pain, as bolts of electricity shattered through my body, the firing of the a gun rang through my ears. I didn't know whether I fired or not, all I knew was I had to run. And fast.
