Sirius Black felt lucky when his godson cleared his name and allowed him to be free of the cloud that followed him. He felt lucky when he survived not only the battle at the Department of Mysteries, but the Battle of Hogwarts as well. He felt lucky when Minerva McGonagall offered him a position teaching his favorite subject after the war. His luck seemed to run out, however, when the government decided to meddle in his love life, or lack thereof.

Athena Bailey had graduated with honors, and then survived the war by the skin of her teeth. She felt lucky to have survived when so many did not. She felt lucky when Minerva McGonagall offered her a teaching position at her alma mater, Hogwarts. Her luck ran out, however, when the government stepped in.

*Obviously, this is completely non-canonical. I love these marriage law stories, but was struggling to find one that matched my current obsession, the marauders. Warning, there is a SLIGHT age gap here, but nothing too extreme, only about ten years. Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks also managed to survive the war.*

*will contain mature themes eventually*

*All original characters are owned by JKR. I only take credit for any characters or plots that you don't recognize from the original works!*

She was tired, she was so bloody tired of it all. From the constant nagging and picking and pulling to the waking up at 6 am everyday to do that stupid crap. She didn't think it was stupid really, she just didn't like having to do it. She didn't really like having to do schoolwork either, but she found herself to be fond of the teachers and the curriculums. Most of all though, she didn't mind being at school all too much because it kept her away from the house. She found James to be nice, and Sirius to be troublesome, Peter was quite thoughtful, but Remus, he was kind to her. She had found that Remus was her favorite of them all, he was really very kind to her. What she had really come to see though, was the fact that he had scars too, and that meant they matched. Mature content. There are certain parts of this story that I will put a trigger warning before but you should keep cautioun when reading because I mention a lot of triggering things and topics in this book including self harm, abuse, mental illnesses etc. Also, the first year is really shitty writing and like the first part of fourth but I swear it gets so much better. I just haven't gotten around to editing the bad bits yet :( Credit to J.K. Rowling for the characters and parts of the plot and obviously Hogwarts fandom and Everything Harry Potter related. But, credit to J.K. Rowling. I mean- for everything other than my plots and characters too so.
