Warning: Story contains potentially triggering material. Emma Downs has a rough past. Her father is an abusive alcoholic and her mother committed suicide years ago. Her best friend Harry Styles moved away shortly after Emma's mother's death in order to audition for the singing competition show: The X Factor, and pursue his life's dream. When Emma escapes her oppressive home life she returns face-to-face with a boy whom she never thought she'd see again, who is now a member of the widely popular boy-band One Direction. Emma suddenly feels less hostile towards old feelings and begins to make peace with her past. But is there anyway to move on when the past keeps coming back to haunt you?
