June lives in a city filled with wandering souls without any memory. One day her parents go on a one-month vacation to Belgium, leaving her with her kind cousins. Ever since the accident she lost contact with them and isolated herself.
She created scars, she had scars. She would see her own ghosts and didn't know the meaning behind the word love anymore.
Will she be able to accept the past and move forward? Or will she drown in the dark ocean of regret and sorrow?

Small Sneak Peak:
"Don't be afraid, child". Robert's words were echoing within my head however, in its depths I would listen to another voice saying "Don't do it. Be afraid. It's your fault. You can't. You shouldn't."

# Prologue Some moments shatter us so completely that we forget what it means to be whole. The accident took more than two lives that night-it took the version of Freen who believed in tomorrow, who laughed without hesitation, who saw possibility in every sunrise. In the aftermath, she became a ghost haunting her own existence, moving through days that felt borrowed and undeserved. The world continued spinning while she remained frozen in that terrible moment when everything changed. Friends offered comfort she couldn't accept, family spoke of healing she couldn't imagine, and time moved forward while she stayed trapped in the wreckage of before. She had convinced herself that surviving meant nothing more than breathing, that the guilt of living when they couldn't was punishment enough. The pieces of her former self lay scattered like debris after a storm, too sharp to touch, too broken to reassemble. Until Becky. Sometimes salvation comes disguised as an ordinary Tuesday, wearing a familiar smile and carrying an unexpected truth: that it's not only okay to live after tragedy-it's necessary. That honoring the dead doesn't require joining them in stillness, but rather in embracing the gift they no longer could. This is the story of learning to live again, of discovering that giving life a chance might be the most courageous thing we ever do. Give Life a Chance and It Might Surprise You! # Prologue **Two Years Ago** The music is too loud. I can't stop laughing. "Becky, slow down," Irin says. Someone stops me from reaching for another drink. Saint's twin. Freen. "I think you've had enough." "Where's Saint?" I slur. "Work emergency," she says quietly. The room spins. I stumble toward the exit. Three guys block my path, saying disgusting things. Freen steps in front of me. "She's with me. Back off." They don't listen until security comes. In her car, everything's fuzzy. Her gentle hands helping me to the door. Waiting while I fumble with keys. When I turn to thank her, she's so close. Gold flecks in her dark eyes. The kiss happens before I can think. Soft. Perfect. I pull away, mumbling apologies. She backs into the shadows. I stumble inside and pass out. **The Next Morning** Saint calls early. "Beck, I'm so sorry about last night. Are you okay?" "What do you mean?" "The guys bothering you. I'm so glad I could help you get away from them." I frown. "You were there?" "Of course. I couldn't let anything happen to you. I was so worried when I saw those guys cornering you. Thank God I got you home safely." My head hurts too much to think clearly. "Thank you." "You don't remember much, do you? You were pretty drunk. That's probably for the best. Just know that I'll always protect you, Beck." Warmth spreads through my chest. Saint saved me. Saint protected me. That's when I fall in love with him. **Present Day** I'm staring at my reflection in the wrinkled wedding dress. "Becky? The car is here." The car to take me to marry the wrong twin. Saint left me at the altar this morning. Gone. Now I have to marry Freen. The woman who barely speaks to me. Who avoids me. I don't understand why she dislikes me so much. In an hour, I'll marry someone who can't even look me in the eye. Someone who isn't Saint.

He was alone, adrift in a life that felt empty, teetering on the edge of despair. She appeared unexpectedly-a stranger, yet someone who could see him in ways no one else ever had. One night, one moment, changed everything. Words were exchanged, hearts opened, and lives were altered but some encounters leave more than memories. They leave echoes. As time stretches on, love and loss weave together, shaping the paths we walk, the choices we make, and the people we become. How far would you go to hold onto someone... even when you know they can't stay?
