He was right. Working with him, being his friend, it was all too hard. Coming to work everyday and seeing his hard face soften only for me, it makes me want to hug him and never let go, but...

"We can't ever be more than friends, Charles. I don't have time to waste on a man that's only going to break my heart in the long run."

He looked at me and his face visibly turned from confused to sympathetic.

Tears started forming in my eyes. I realized in this moment that I loved Charlie Romano. I wanted to be with him so badly, and for a second I ignored my mind telling me it would never work, and listened to my heart telling me that Charlie was the one.
