"Don't make me ask you twice, Wolf. Let him go." His quiet but firm voice carried the fifteen feet easily in the dead silence.
"You don't want to be dead twice, Chief. The first funeral was painful enough," replied Wolf, her voice laced with fury. The knives clattered to the floor, pushed out by her regeneration system.
Axis' rule sees the blue of the sky of 2089 choked to a dull grey by the fumes of The Cybo Revolution. Body upgrades are almost a norm and are the greatest gift crime has seen since the gun. "A philosophy so physical makes for a handsome tribe," as immortalized by the elusive Revolution leader. Ever since data privacy was outlawed by Axis a few years back, rumors had begun making rounds. Unheard whispers threatened to snowball. Zeppelin chips. Control experiments. And just like that, global crime rates plummet - The Disappearance had started.
Four years later, a lone man wakes up in the middle of nowhere with nothing but vestigial memories and an implant in his body. Friendless and disoriented, he sets out to figure out what really happened to him, even as Axis' sentinel drones circle overhead.
[Note 1: This is my first attempt as a writer, and I've included all the parts here. This is an unfinished work as of now, but I am constantly working on it. Meanwhile, it would be lovely if you are able to get through to the end (which I will be adding very soon) and post your comments! I would love to hear opinions and ideas on how a particular scene could have been done!]
[Note 2: This is a non-linear narrative, so you will have to go through the first few chapters to really get a grip on what the hell's going on. BUT THE PAYOFF IS HUGE!]All Rights Reserved1 part
