We are here to tell you that this book is fiction (to those nonbelievers) but if anything unnatural happens to you, use this book as a guide for survival. Let us tell you a little bit about ourselves.

My name is Cole and I am 14. I have a secret.

My name is Bri and I am also 14. I am not who I seem to be.

We were selected by a secret society called "Wordsmiths" who determine the past, present, and future to take on a quest with four others. The Book of Life, a book which holds information of everything that goes on in this world, requires special paper which is quickly disappearing. Not to mention that murders occur as the quest progresses. The bodies are mutilated and a letter is carved into the victims' chests. We need to find the source of the gruesome events or else the whole world will end.

The Wordsmiths are a secret society that are in deep need of a couple heroes and this is how an unforgettable journey takes place.

In the picturesque town of Bartlett, where the sun kisses the rolling hills and the air is alive with the melody of nature, a group of childhood friends is summoned by a mysterious call echoing from the heart of an ancient cave. Drawn by an inexplicable pull, they venture into the depths of the majestic wilderness that surrounds their beloved town. Within the hidden sanctuary of the cave, they encounter a sight that defies belief-a radiant crystal, pulsating with an energy both dazzling and enigmatic. As they approach, guided by curiosity and a sense of wonder, the air shivers with anticipation, and the voice of the cave whispers secrets known only to the ages. With trembling hands, they reach out to touch the crystal, unaware of the profound transformation it will bestow upon them. In an instant, the crystal awakens dormant powers within each of them, gifts bestowed by the elemental forces of nature itself: lightning crackles, light dances, water flows, fire ignites, ice forms, and love binds. Startled yet exhilarated by this extraordinary revelation, they realize they are called to a destiny far greater than they could have ever imagined. Guided by the ancient echoes of a long-forgotten prophecy and the mysterious voice that beckoned them into the depths, they embark on a journey that will test their courage, challenge their bonds, and shape the fate of their world. For lurking in the shadows is a darkness that threatens to consume everything they hold dear, and only they possess the power to stand against it. Join them as they heed the call of adventure, unravel the secrets of the crystal, and embrace the magic that courses through their veins. For in the heart of every journey lies the promise of discovery, and in the bonds of friendship lies the strength to conquer even the greatest of evil.

Waking up face down in mud sucks any day of the week. But coming around in the sludge of a strange realm...? Well, that just redefines a bad day altogether. Trapped in an unfamiliar world, sixteen-year-old Quinn is frustrated that none of the strange Tree People appreciate his urgency to get back home to earth. Now he is faced with a choice that could change the course of his life: escape and find his own way home, or stay and help them find the cause of the poison ravishing their world. When the mind-reader unlocks one of the ancient mysteries of the Tree People it points to the only way of saving them from annihilation: they have to find the Power of Light. What exactly that means, the mind-reader doesn't reveal, but his next warning comes as a shock to all present: finding the mysterious Power of Light can only be done with the help of the dangerous enemy tribe whom they once called family. Quinn soon finds himself a little more entangled in the lives of these gifted beings than he'd care to be. Especially after meeting Jazz: the feisty girl from his world who seems to be a regular visitor to the world of Zoay. To Quinn's constant frustration, the aqua-eyed pixie makes it clear that she's not there to make friends. On their journey they'll brave bizarre encounters in dangerous alien forests, while sacrificing pride and will for the survival of all. Along the way Quinn finds more than he ever thought to seek: purpose, fulfillment and love. When the Power of Light is finally found a devastating discovery is made: if all of Zoay-including their enemy-want to live and prosper, one must be willing to sacrifice their life.

"Death, I think I could handle. It's the waiting that kills me." Humanity is no more. Struggling out of the rubble are the Lumière and the Fos, two races whose only edible source of food is the hearts of one another, and no matter how much they eat they're eternally hungry. Perhaps they were once the same-- brothers in humanity-- but now they're brothers in cannibalism. Though these monsters may look human, it's important to remember they are anything but. They are not alive, and they are definitely not human. Kai Chrysostom's brother, Ash, just died. He was the family's Sawney, the hunter of Fos: the one who went into the white plains just beyond the city walls to hunt Fos for food so his family could live. Most days, he would arrive home, place heart after heart on the dinner table and smile at his brother, whose constant twitching and childhood disease meant he could never kill a Fos himself. Now, the task falls to Kai. Considered by most to be disabled, Kai has no hunt training, a fear of death, and worse-- a fear of the past. A death. A journey. Eternal hunger. A hunt he never wanted to join. And love. A girl Fos who spares everyone except him, and takes pity on the poor fool as he literally faints at the sight of blood in front of her. A prison. A savior. A loss. More death. And the past that demands to be remembered. And, it's great-- you've sympathized with your only source of food-- but you're hungry. And, deep down, you know you must eat. ~~~ 45,205 words! Finished! Finally~!!

❅| "Even a vastness can no longer shelter you... or engulf your dream." ⊱⋅ ──────────── ⋅⊰ [UNDER EDITING/REDRAFTING - latest chapter: 6] To a world seemingly shrouded in a cloak of safety and eternal peace, death is an unimaginable concept. Yet for those whose rule of life was mere survival, perhaps that's a different situation. For those who stood in the face of adversity, for those who refused to give in to the castigation of their lives, life has no sweetness to it. Merely the bitter tang of a blood-chilling revenge. To avenge a loved one or perhaps even their own pain, the murderous intent behind their deceitful eyes is unmistakable. For to them, lamenting about the past is a life lost to the cruel hands of fate. What happens when a woman as brilliant as the morning sun provides a haven in one's dreams? What happens when she, despite the agonies life carried, says to abandon everything right here and now and leave? Alcestis did not need to be told twice. Seizing the chance to escape the horrible clutches of her grandparents, she sets out on a journey to find the Elementals - a band of heroes protecting the human realm from those that lied beyond, headed by her parents. She knew of the darkness that festered within her; she knew of the hatred that danced in her heart. More than anything, she knew the extents of how fragmented her soul was. What, perhaps, would unfold when she sets out on her journey, leaving behind the world she knew; leaving behind what hopefulness remained in her battered heart? None would heed her an answer, indeed. None save for the rage that tainted her being.
