The memory of his voice echoes across the canopy, scattering into painful shards of laugher, of warm whispers by your ear on dark nights, of snatches of song on those precious Saturdays spent together. You weep, as those lost moments wash over you. You weep, as the pine needles kiss your knees where you fall. You weep, as a heavy arm falls around your shoulders, pulling you into his embrace. You weep, even as he murmurs that it will all be alright, because already you are beginning to believe him. - - - - - A grieving sibling, mired in their own tragic memories. A starving parasite, seeking a new tale on which to feed. Together, they... Get into some bad stuff. Probably a vent fic, I guess.

"Those are just daisies you idiot." He wiped at his eyes with the back of his sleeve. I sat down next to him, gently picking up one of the tiny white flowers. "Hm, nope they're wishing seeds. See?" I began to pluck the petals from the stem one at a time, gathering them in my small calloused hand. When I was done, I held them close to my chest and whispered quietly. "Now for the finishing touch." I said breathing deeply before blowing the handful of petals away. "What was that supposed to do?" Flinn watched as the wind swept the soft specks toward the horizon. "Well they're going to carry my wish away so it can sprout and come true. Here you try." I held one out to him. He plucked it gently from my palm, blushing. "Fine but you have to look away." He grumbled. I giggled, turning my back to him. He mumbled to the petals softly before declaring, "Okay I'm done." I turned to face him then. "What did you wish for?" I asked curiously. Flinn stared at the ground for a long time before his haunted gray eyes met mine. "I wished for him to die." ~~~~ Eliya and Flinn share a dark past. As children their time together had been bittersweet. What will happen when they reunite after years estranged from each other?
