She's so anxious, so nervous, so afraid that she's going to be hurt, or worse, killed. Then a foreign exchange student moves in with her best friend, and befriends her. Her life changes, she changes back into her old self. She comes out of her shell, her mind shifting off all the stressful times, and past times, and focuses on this new guy in her life. A guy she desperately wants to keep, but wants to also keep safe. They go through twists and turns, but in the end, doesn't happiness always win?
