To my surprise, we didn't end up going to where breakfast is served but to the throne room. I couldn't believe my eyes when I carefully looked up and saw the throne with the vampire queen seated on it. She almost looked like she wasn't real, like she was just a statue. She had a black pantsuit on and a crown sitting on top of her head. Her crown is silver, the same as our collars. It shows off her ownership. Even though other vampires buy us, she owns us all in the end...

For as long as I could remember vampires ruled other humans. I found it that way and I believed that was an injustice. Not like I could do much about it. Once I turned of age, I would be sold as a blood slave, a pet and my life would possibly end. I never liked these creatures to begin with. Adding salt to injury I was bought by a royal vampire, the prince. I cursed the day I was born. Maybe not all vampires were the same, but for humans that was just wishful thinking.
