"These violent delights have violent ends."

His hand found her waist, and that was when Veronica noticed how quiet he'd become. Her breath hitched and her stomach dropped. She looked into his eyes, which had darkened. Fred has the ghost of a smirk on his lips that made it hard for her to think straight.

But what she didn't realize was that Fred was finding it hard to think straight around her too. The only thing that he could think of was how pretty she was.

Veronica brought her hand down, completely forgetting the PDC and getting lost in his eyes. Fred couldn't help but bring his hand up to her hair and brush it away from her face. In that moment, he realized how much he had missed her being around. All summer he'd felt like something was missing, and he didn't know it was her until now.

The two young wizards were intoxicated by each other in that moment. Something awakened in the two of them that night.

As Veronica brought her hands to rest on his arms, Fred finally spoke.

"When did you get so pretty, Vee?" He rested his forehead on hers.

In which they were complete opposites, but the war had fucked them both up and somehow they find comfort in each other. A Malfoy and a Weasley...what could possibly go wrong? Turns out, a lot of things --- As she stepped back, she simply watched as he lifted a hand to feel on the fresh hickey on the side of his neck. Unlike the other ones, this one would be very visible. Huffing in surprise, he glanced up at her "Full of surprises, aren't you?" Shrugging, she took another step back before turning around and continuing for the direction of the castle. Weasley was still behind her and she called over her shoulder "Keep that one visible, yes? Don't need girls like Susan Bones to get any ideas" "Jealous, little Malfoy?" his voice called after her "Don't call me that" she kept walking "Hold up- did you call me handsome?" As her back was turned to him, she allowed herself to show a tiny smile "As you said, carrot. I'm full of surprises" Later that day, when the sun had finally set and the silence had entered the castle, Leilani was alone in the common room. Her brother was out, god knows where, Theo was with whatever girl he was currently seeing and Pansy was occupied with Tracy Davis in their dorm. As she sat down on the sofa, she let herself sink into it, folding her legs under her. Closing her eyes, she let herself sigh and when she opened them again, Leilani completely froze. There on the dark coffee table were two objects, staring up at her. One she was expecting and one she wasn't. At all. A pink flower and an orange. Fuck.

"Fred Weasley," he introduced himself as he leant back against the table, "Well, Professor Weasley now I guess." "I remember," Kate replied, her eyes suspiciously glancing back at him, "I was in the year below you, but I didn't think you would remember me." "Not remember you?" Fred questioned, his eyebrows burrowing inwards, "how could I forget the girl that saved my life?" It's been a year since Kate Mellor graduated Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and only three months since she returned to fight in the Battle of Hogwarts alongside her old Quidditch Teammates and her best friend...Cho Chang. But now she finds herself at Hogwarts's Grand Staircase once again. Now a Healer's Associate at St Mungo's studying Psychiatry, she has been called upon by Headmistress McGonagall to provide emotional support to all the incoming students - including the returning seventh years who never got to finish their exams. She's not the only new interim professor this year, as old friends and the Weasley family have come to help up too...but will the heavy grief of students scarred in the war be too much? Or will she find solitude in her fellow Professor, who can teach her that there is more to life, and grief, than words in books?
