In a world where humans doesn't exist and anthropomorphic animals roam the land and have formed a civilization very similar to us, (yet some differences are still present) Henry White, a male deer Private detective, embarks to a journey to his new home in San Francisco after leaving his natal Chicago to find a more safe life. The city has been overrun by the mob that profits in illegal actions, and police forces are cutting thin in the numbers of noble and law abiding officers to fight them. In his travel, Henry will stop at Barstow, a small town in California where he'll find himself unable to leave thanks to a mysterious murder.
