But after eleven lonely years of abandonment and abuse, he struggles with his deep-rooted anger toward his Mom and the jealousy he has for his siblings burns. And despite the offer to adopt him, Riley still can't make heads or tails of what the hell Brad wants from him.

Between pressures of a new family he can't figure out, a new school where he can't keep up, and painful memories of his father that just won't go away, Riley's finger is hovering over the self-destruct button. He doesn't want to be worthless, but he doesn't know how to be worth anything.
