She'd known about the wizarding world ever since she got her letter from Hogwarts, but that was a long while ago. She's a muggleborn, and her parents are teachers. Meaning, no matter how much she wanted to go, there was no way that her family could afford the cost of sending her from her small town in South Carolina, USA, all the way to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. 
For years, she worked everyday, trying to earn enough money to help cover the costs while teaching herself magic every night. No matter how terrifying it was going to be, she was determined to go to Hogwarts. It was her chance to get away from her small town and start a new life. 
However, there was one thing standing between her and the life she wanted... Herself.
