Akemi, a highly skilled inventor and mechanics designer, is one of Republic City's trusted urban developers and Firelord Izumi's most prodigious firebending student. Having been recruited by the Earth Empire to help with their temporarily tasked mission of stabilising the Earth Kingdom, Akemi is swiftly promoted to being Kuvira's personal assistant and firebending guard. Between the Great Uniter and her assistant blossoms an intense but clandestine relationship which begins to tamper with Akemi's sense of just ethics.
