Putting The Pieces Together (MOLLY WHUPPIE ADAPTATION)

This is an short adaptation of the original fairytale Molly Whuppie published in English Fairy Tales by Joseph Jacobs. I wrote this for my college creative writing class Fall of 2020 and is my absolute favorite.

I have also uploaded my adaptation of Rapunzel which has the same cover as well. This is because it was the cover I made for the portfolio I turned in! Please check that one out as well.

PSA: Some parts are way shorter than others! It's because it emphasizes the jump in time. In the original paper, you're able to tell based on how it's displayed, but I felt the need to add that here since I'm cutting it up some. Also, I uploaded off my Ipad so the indents might not appear otp.

**EXCERPT**

I stood and bolted towards the door calling for Barnes to follow, leaving the couple watching after me.
The sun was going down. I don't know how long we had been out, but it seemed later than it should. This was around the time Molly had gotten in the house the night before.
"What's going on?" Barnes asked.
"She's there right now, Barnes... at the giant's house. We need to get there now or else she might get hurt."
I drove to the crime scene where we entered the woods yesterday. I was comfortable sprinting into the tree line; it had only been twenty-four hours and I felt I could go straight to the giant's old house.
Barnes called dispatch on his radio advising of our current location and requesting uniformed backup. It seemed like only a few moments before sighting the house in the canopy of forest. I was not afraid, but floating on a cloud of adrenaline, ready to fight if I had to.
Weapons drawn, Barnes and I approach the house, the screams of cats and dogs coming from inside are alarming, but stop suddenly with a chilling finality. Barnes and I moved closer.
"Fee, fie, fo, fum," grumbled the giant inside the house. His heavy footfalls move towards the door. "I smell the blood of an earthly one."
