Owen Evans and Joshua Collins are best friends. They stick by each other's side in a small, deeply religious town where everyone knows everything about everyone else . The pair met in an abandoned field not too far from church, and having hit it off, became inseparable. As the two grow up, they skip church together and do stupid things, their bond strengthened by their shared disbelief in religion.

But what will happen when Owen begins to feel something for Josh that he 'shouldn't'? And what then happens when Josh reciprocates those feelings? This pair stick together in a homophobic society determined to break them apart. They are put through hell, but through the secrecy and the ridicule, the abandoned field behind the church serves as their sanctuary. Their story may not be one of cliché triumph, and the road to happiness may be rough and bumpy, but they will always come back to one another in the end.
