For generations, the Star family has had luck, not getting a Porcelain Child.
That is, until they had Virgil. He was born and handled with care, until his family cast him out and broke him.
Enter the Harmon family, a trans man called Patton, local school nurse Logan and their sons Roman, Remus and Janus.
Virgil found himself in Logan's embrace shortly after a near car accident left his porcelain leg shattered on the road in the middle of the night.
Brought to the house, Patton accepted him, and so did Roman - albeit after an incident that they would never forget.

Logan and Patton are the parents of the adopted 3 year old twins Remus and Roman. Dean (Deceit) is a single father of adopted 3 year old Virgil, who just moved in to the house across the street. Virgil, though only 3, deals with extreme anxiety, he's a slow learner so he doesn't talk very much and rarely, if not ever, leaves Dean's side and has developed trust issues and PTSD due to the incident that caused them to move in the first place. Unfortunately due to the new circumstances, Dean now has to work so that they can afford to live and is unable to afford for Virgil to go to daycare. Since Patton is a stay at home dad and was very friendly the first time meeting, Dean puts Virgil in his care also hoping that it will help Virgil with his social skills and being around other kids his age. He did this ever since he was a child, wanting to show little weakness and to be strong for the others.
