For recent law school grad Charlotte Maxwell, real life has never been so good. On a post-graduation vacation with her best friend, the last thing Charlie is thinking about is meeting anyone: all she's looking to do is eat, drink, and get some sun (although not necessarily in that order). After three stressful years of focusing on school, Charlie's long overdue for some relaxation and she intends on maximizing every moment of this trip...by doing absolutely nothing.

What she doesn't expect on her perfect vacation is to meet the perfect guy. Alex is smart, funny, and handsome. Despite their different backgrounds - Charlie is from a Midwestern middle class family while Alex is a wealthy Brit - their chemistry is undeniable. Charlie's not exactly the vacation fling kind of girl, but figures she can make an exception in Alex's case.

But is Alex really too good to be true? What if the only souvenir Charlie brings back from her vacation is a broken heart?

Everyone knows those Christmas romances where they pretend to be a couple for the holidays and end up falling in love before Christmas Eve, right? Well, at least every hopeless romantic does. Penelope knows these movies by heart, watching them every cold December night as she hopelessly waits for Aden, her irresistible colleague, to get the hint and see her as more than a friend. But this year, she won't wait for Santa to bring her the perfect romance. She is determined to take matters into her own hands and get the love story she's been waiting for too long. She has the perfect plan for it: she will ask Aden to be her fake boyfriend for the holidays. If it works in the movies, why wouldn't it work in real life, especially when they have already so much in common? She has everything planned to make him fall in love before Christmas day, well, everything except a little detail... a pair of green eyes and a devious smirk that have driven her up the wall her whole childhood: Theone, her brother's best friend. He's back for the holidays, and she knows the moment he passes the door that it means nothing but trouble. What she doesn't suspect, though, is that he could mess her perfect Christmas romance the only way she would have never thought of... Join Penelope in her journey to find love, where there are gonna be all these classic Christmas romances must-haves: romantic ice-skating, cookies made with love, mistletoe kisses, adorable little kids, snow... yet maybe not as you imagine. "So, let me get this straight. You stomped all over his paperwork?" She started. "Not intentionally, but yes," I confirmed it. "Threw a drink in his face?" She added. "Expensive red wine." I described. "Rammed into his car with yours deliberately?" she counted on her third finger. "Um...I'm not proud of that one," I said cringing. "And called him offensive names?" She ended the list and I winced. "Twice." I specified. "And you're still alive?" She blinked, looking genuinely surprised. "Geez, don't be dramatic or anything..." I frowned at her hyperbolic statement. "Maybe he's keeping you around to get revenge." She suggested. Possible. I wouldn't put it past him. "I didn't know alright!" I exclaimed. "Let's hope that excuse is acceptable.." She was merely amused. "Working with my new boss is going to be a piece of work." ** Synopsis: When the CEO of Signature Heights: Jensen Black, and a stubborn employee: Alexandra Brook, clash, it's a battle of wits & a war of perseverance. "We met earlier, kind of," he smiled at her. "I'm Jake." "H-hi!" How had she missed him before? He was delightful. Dark blond hair, slate grey eyes . . . and oh my goodness, that smile!!! To be fair, back in the bar, all of their faces had been merging together, but now she was a bit more with it, she could see this guy was pretty much perfection. What a shame she was getting married . . . No, wait, she wasn't. But he thought she was. And yet here he was, apparently interested. Time to see how this one played out . . . ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Charlotte Tyler has a theory - when it comes to girls, all guys want what they can't have. The fact her colleague Aaron flirted with her constantly while she was in a relationship and lost interest the second she was single has in no way disproved this theory. And so her best friend Thea comes up with a way to test this further - if Charlie stages her own hen night, will she manage to hook an unsuspecting guy? Despite being technically off-the-market? It seems like a crazy idea. But the plan, surprisingly, is a resounding success, and Charlie actually meets and starts to fall for someone as a result. But with an imaginary fiance and an upcoming fictional wedding to juggle, her lies are starting to spin out of control. Is this what she really wants?
