Komaeda was having the worst day of his life (that was an exaggeration, it wasn't as bad as the plane crash but this wasn't the time to think about that right now). 

He was recently fired from his minimum wage job for an incident he wasn't even responsible this time after that, he found out that his bank account was hacked and he couldn't even contact his bank since his phone somehow went missing and worst of all, his landlord decided to kick him out of his crappy apartment because he couldn't pay the rent for a few months (honestly, he should be grateful that the landlord decided to pity him and kept trash like him for a while before kicking him out) and now he had nowhere to go.
