"Reborns. We can't control our past but the best we can do is shape our future."

Two reborns, Anne and Ash are bound to the same fates as any other before them. Birth, life, and death. But their memories are stronger than most, haunted by imposters whispering about promises that can surely be fulfilled but without a doubt costly. They quickly must choose between their strong friendship and the people they vowed to protect since the day their childish pact was made or great success accompanied by the harsh reality of betrayal.

"One apple may spoil the bunch but that doesn't mean some aren't worth salvaging."

A royalleaf, child of a once believed to be superior species before proved to be a long mutated race named Jay can't pull her head out of old traditions that stood for centuries. Her father's thoughts have very little effect with the bias taught to her by the people at her old home before New York. With the grove reservation miles away up in flames and a dramatic loss in her life, the wool towards fireleaves might be torn off her eyes forever.

Ash was Kurt Cobain.

Anne was Georgeanna Tillman.

And Jay is one little scary royalleaf.
