Y/n learned to think people should appreciate their soulmates better.

Living in a society where having another half is a norm was merciless to those who were born unlucky; without a soulmate. Sure, some people tried to spread awareness, telling that it's okay to not have a soulmate or be bothered to look for them. But at the same time, most of society was yet too stubborn to change their judgment on that subject. After all, what's the point of treating someone as equal if their soul was formed in a way to be incomplete for an eternity?

And as a specific rumour at Hope's Peak Academy rises, Y/n is about to make a life-changing decision; an opportunity. The one they've been pleading and dreading for years now.

With family on one shoulder and past on the other, will they deem themselves worthy of taking it? Or maybe they'll back down and escape while still can?

Trigger warnings: Injuries, death (briefly mentioned), dealing with trauma, mentions of mental illnesses. The story will be mostly kept fluffy though.
