Before Twilight and the return of both Princess Luna and the elements of harmony there was just Princess Celestia and her niece Cadence, when a changeling spy approaches the princess speaking of an upcoming attack on Canterlot she has no choice but to plan a defence, but her royal guard are trained to fight off Changelings, in fact Equestria hadn't seen changelings for over a hundred years. The princess decides that now is the time to unleash her secret weapon, eight hired mercenaries that she had collected from around the know lands of Equestria and beyond, plus the new changeling Spy. Hopefully they won't fail in their first real mission.
((This is pretty much what would happen if the tf2 mercs were born in the mlp universe, so things are probably going to be a little different about them, you have been warned. Takes place a few years before the return of Nightmare Moon))

Being transparent, this story is an MLP fanfic that started out as a pet project of mine, but I finished it a few days ago, and I felt it's finally time I share it. Sure, it starts out with typical "OC meets canon character" stuff, but it gets good, I swear! Seriously, this story gets quite insane by the end, and while I don't blame you if you don't read every single chapter... at least read the tenth chapters, because that's usually where it gets the most insane. I might even upload said tenth chapters before the others because... well, I'm going to be rewriting a lot of stuff, and I'm not gonna make you wait to get to the good parts. By the way, the story contains a lot of No More Heroes/Bayonetta influences, and some Devil May Cry ones earlier on. Also, please keep in mind that while I do try to write the characters canon to the show as accurately as I can, I try to write them with a bit more sincerity, as if they're people instead of cartoon ponies. Then again, take my attempt at a more realistic portrayal of the characters with a grain of salt. I'm still an amateur writer after all, so whether or not the characters do actually act like more realistic versions of the characters from the show is up to you to judge. Queen Iris, and King Astraeus have just given birth to two beautiful unicorns, Galaxia and Chrystalline. Though Chrystalline was born with a devastating mutation, a curse it seemed, of a crooked horn. Queen Iris took Galaxia immediately under her responsibilities, and left Chrystalline to their father, she was ignored, neglected and scorned by her mother. Equestria has been plunged into dark powers not meant to be controlled, but then, what about Chaos Magic? Actually, things might only get worse. Whatever the case, Sun's back, and with the help of her friends, old and new, she's ready to use her witchcraft to fight back against (and probably crush beneath her hoof) whatever dares to threaten her peaceful life! However, Sun isn't the only one who's important - any character can be! Through the eyes of biased narrators, both original and from MLP:FiM, read harrowing journeys across Equestria's forgotten lands and familiar sights, or maybe just a wacky adventure full of nonsense. ...Still reading? Okay, good. So, this is obviously a sequel to my last story, Songs of Innocence, but if you haven't read that, that's okay! The explosive first chapter of this story will seamlessly make you understand who Sun is, which is what's most important! However, the younger sister became resentful, as ponies relished and played in the daytime her sister brought, but shunned and slept through her beautiful night. Then one day, the younger sister refused to lower moon to make way for the dawn. As such, the hatred in her heart turned her into a wicked mare of darkness: Nightmare Moon. Left with no choice, the elder sister called upon the most powerful relics in all of ponydom: the Elements of Harmony. Using the power of the Elements of Harmony, the elder sister defeated Nightmare Moon, banishing and sealing her in the moon. Afterwards, the elder sister took the responsibility of both the sun and moon, and peace and harmony has reigned ever since... or has it? What if there were an organization deep in the shadows who had not only WORKED in the night the younger sister brought, but committed crimes? That's EXACTLY what had happened, but the two sisters didn't know it until it was too late. However, thanks to the work of the EUP Guard, which had been formed to protect the elder sister, this group had been stopped. However, what if they came back?
