In this story, 17 year old Kalyn Brooks deals with being a twin. Not only that but her brother, Nick Brooks, happens to be an immensely popular, egotistic, overprotective one. He practically rules the school, because he is the captain of the soccer team, and because he is the cliché hottie jock that everyone expects him to be. Kalyn is fine to hide behind her brothers shadow, she finds comfort in not being immensely popular, unlike most girls her age.
Then Cameron Hood gets added into the picture. Cameron, Nick, and Kalyn all grew up together, however as they grew older, the boys stopped hanging out with Kalyn, until Cameron practically forgot she existed. In their senior year, Kalyn realizes to her dismay, that she finds herself crushing on Cameron. A cliche, tragic plot twist to her life. When Cameron needs a favor from Kalyn, will she be willing? Although they have grown closer, she still doesn't truth him much. Does she help?
Find out when you read; Shhh... Don't tell my brother
I felt the tears rise and I looked down for a minute, gathering all of my resolve. I looked up again and stared him right in the eye.
"You know what? I trusted you!" I jabbed my finger in his chest and he recoiled.
"I trusted you and you broke my trust. I trusted you to keep the secret. I trusted you enough to tell you everything. I trusted you to keep my trust. I trusted you." I told him and he flinched as my voice broke in the end. I looked away from him and at everyone else in the room.
"And you wonder why I never trust. You know what? I can't do this. I'm done." I scoffed and shoved past Aiden but paused at the door, not looking back.
"Oh, and if you are still curious? Go ahead and hack into the file. Don't say that I didn't warn you."
