Consequences

Douglas, an ordinary man, a war veteran now approaching retirement age, is forced into unwanted retirement from his Public Service job by a newly elected ultra left wing green alliance State Government.
Employing long dormant skills and with meticulous attention to detail, Douglas plans the public assassination of the Premier at a government sponsored festival. At the vital moment, however, with the Premier in his sights, he impulsively changes his target, realising that if he killed her, she would not see the consequences of her reckless political actions.
As the crime is deemed political, the state police investigation is overseen by a mysterious Mr Smith, from the Commonwealth Police. As the investigation stalls, a violent attack on an ex-politician draws the police attention to one of the bikers released by the new government.
