Life : The First

I've always been an overthinker.

Sometimes it helped me with everyday situations, seeing as how I already worked out the appropriate response to the question that came before the time.

Other times, it caused me to push people away, me already having sized them up and decided I didn't want anything to do with them.

All these processes happening in less than a few seconds, mind you.

Then there are times when my brain stops, and all that's heard is the continuous notes in percussion and sound that ring from the headphones that lay rest on my neck.

"My apologies, I'm looking for a young lady by the name of Cathelena, I was told this was where she stays. It's urgent that I speak with her."

There go my thoughts again, the thousands of possible endings playing out in front of my eyes as I heard a woman with too much authority push her way past my roommate before stopping directly before my opened door.

"I've found you."
