Soon, I discovered it was the opposite of those said promises. Instead, there was only a hidden, terrifying truth.

When I was little, my mother used to tell me stories about an ancient world that contained mystical and strange creatures -created by the gods it was supposed to divide the humans and the creatures. Her stories were mostly about brave Guardians that had the obligation of protecting the other world. This world was to be called the Portal World. As I grew up in difficult conditions I dismissed all those ideas out of my head. Tales are for children and nothing of it was true. Or so I thought. I tear up just a little as he speaks, I don't know the last time I cried happy tears. I bring my hands up to cup his cheeks, resting my forehead against his. "No matter how much I push, I don't mean it. Please don't give up on me." My words seem to relieve him in some way as I feel his shoulders relax. "Even when I'm gone, I'll be by your side, forever." As she made it to the Sanatorium she made a friend named Wolfie, who had stayed a surprisingly long time at the Sanatorium and told her of the mysterious dangers of the Sanatorium. What Jupiter never expected is that the Sanatorium is filled of many scary and crazy things that she and Wolfie will be facing, and that most of their choices led to trouble. She had been found guilty of murder, and was sentenced to life in prison. After accepting a contract to venture through "the Blacksite" in search of an anomalous crystal, Tessa's life changed in ways she could never imagine. WARNINGS: This fic starts off pretty tame, but there is mild gore and heavy swearing. Later on, around chapter 10, things start to get heavier in terms of gore and violence. There is also some pretty heavy smut. The characters are both consenting adults! :)
