Three months have passed since the Midas Vault incident, and for sixteen year old Valeria Torres, things seem to be back to normal. There has been no Faction War between Rogues and Celestials, so she goes to school, hangs out with her friends - including the charming Sai Gupta, and continues training as a Rogue. But something is missing.

Erin Tyrell is missing.

Erin is her enemy, and maybe that's for the best. But everything changes when Erin suddenly shows up on her doorstep, excommunicated from the Celestials. Disgraced and discredited by her Faction, Erin says the Shadow is still out there, trying to tear the world apart, and only one thing is powerful enough to stop him. The only problem is, it's locked within the Celestial Fortress. 

Convinced she can never be the hero, Valeria knows her role in all this madness. She is a thief, always has been, always will be. But stealing a weapon of great power doesn't happen easily. The heist will require attention to detail, meticulous planning, and luck. But when trauma from her past resurfaces and threatens to ruin everything she's fought for, Valeria will have to decide if she is willing to sacrifice everything for the people she cares about.
