The Once and Future King (A Code Geass Fanfiction)

August 10th 2010, the start of the Second Pacific War. This event is one of major influence upon the world and those with in. It was a war fought between the Holy Britannian Empire and what was then known as the nation of Japan. The war ended in a month...Britannia's use of Knightmares placed devastating pressure on the Japanese mainland, and with the death of Genbu Kururugi the war came grinding to a halt. Britannia had won, and the defeated Japanese got their identity, culture and even nationalities stripped away.

Area Eleven. That's what Japan is known as today, a place of heavy rebellion and uproar among its people. It is the one area of Britannia which has never truly fallen under Britannian suppression. Despite this, Area Eleven was never truly seen as a threat, until the fateful day in which Clovis la Britannia was murdered during an attack on Shinjuku Ghetto. The events caught many in the world off-guard, and the sudden death forced Cornelia li Britannia, along with her sister, Euphemia li Britannia, to take Clovis' place in Area Eleven.

With their arrival, their fleet must of course follow. Within that fleet is a fairly young man named Oscar Noir Pollux - A Britannian soldier and pilot of a feared Knightmare, the Caradoc. This soldier is one of the most questioned, due to his quiet and reserved personality. However, that never stops his unweaving loyalty to the nation which he calls home.

Despite all that, when he meets the man calling himself Zero on the battlefield, will he kill him and embrace his life as a soldier? Or will he finally accept the flaws in Britannian rule and fight alongside the Rebellion that spearheads Japan's revival?
