After returning home from a troubled mission, Artemis Walker is in a battle with herself.
Before she has a chance to really deal with anything, her best friend Alex West arrives for help on a case back in Gotham. With the help of Jason Todd the three start to work on the case.
However many things go wrong, other characters are revealed, and the unknown mission Artemis returned from is putting one of her friends in danger.
