"Oh my God, he's right there," Izuku hissed. "Shoto Todoroki!"
"Present." The elephant in the room said. Two pairs of green eyes trailed his every movement as he stood. "The katsudon was exquisite, thank you Mrs. Midoriya." Inko smiled, picking up his discarded bowl and heading towards the kitchen, but Izuku just continued to stare, motionless.
"Right, I almost forgot," The famous skater added. "Are you Midoriya Izuku?" Izuku gulped and nodded his head, not trusting himself to speak. "Ah, good. Meet me at Ingenium Skate at 7 tomorrow morning, and bring your skates."
"I- I'm sorry, what?" Izuku internally scolded himself for saying something so dumb.
"Oh, starting tomorrow, I'm gonna be your coach."
"Starting tomorrow, you're gonna... be... m-my..." Izuku muttered, eyes glazed over.
Then the ground was quickly rushing to meet him and huh, gravity doesn't work that way, and--

Katsuki Bakugou was almost completely deaf. He could barely hear his own explosions anymore, but that didn't stop him from trying to become a pro hero. He couldn't wait to prove everyone wrong when they said he couldn't be a hero because of his hearing loss. He manages to pass the UA entrance exams and gets accepted, along with his childhood friend, Midoriya. They're placed in class 1-A with the luck that the home room teacher actually knows asl. The transition from middle school to high school isn't the smoothest. Navigating through high school and the pro hero world is hard for someone with all five senses, let alone someone who couldn't hear. Katsuki stumbles... a lot. When Midoriya catches him staring at the duel haired boy in their class during training, he's quick to tease him for it. They sign quickly, Katsuki's movements for aggressive than normal. They gain the attention of Shoto Todoroki, who in turn, stares back. It was obvious that they were signing about him, but he had no clue what they were saying. What if the reason for Katsuki's hurtful words had to do with the dark past Inko desperately tried to keep hidden from the outside world? What if becoming a hero wasn't the answer after all? ~~ My eyes widen. "I've decided. Young man, you will inherit my quirk." I let out a sigh of relief, laying down on the ground as my anxiety fades. I'm overwhelmed with joy, tears streaming down my face as my body is overcome with brutal exhaustion. I don't plan on using this power to become a hero, but All Might doesn't need to know that. I can't think of being a hero, or anything else for now. I need to get stronger, even stronger than my father. Wait for me mom, Kacchan, I'm coming. ~~ After that night, things only became harder for Izuku. The mental pressure was too much, to the extent that it took an unhealthy turn. Izuku could barely handle the pressure of having no one to rely on, torn between becoming a hero and being taught how to assassinate by the killer of heroes. After spending so much time with villains, I no longer thought of the word the same. "If you ask villains their story, you'll probably think they'd make pretty good protagonists. We always see things from the hero's perspective but we rarely ask how the villain ended up the way they are. "I know ok?!" - Izuku screams, he never screams. Shōto flinches and fights the instinct to cover his ears as he stays put with his back against the bedroom door. Fuyumi frowns with the headphones in her hands, ready to place them over his ears, but for once Shōto wants to know. "He's not special! He's just-" - the sentence stops, Inko warns him to stop as it often happens and somehow Shōto wishes Izuku wouldn't stop. He needs to hear it, he needs someone to say that word. "I'm your son, you birthed me, and still I'm never a priority..." - Izuku says and his voice breaks. It's quieter this time. Shōto opens the door and takes a tentative step outside, not really knowing why: maybe to confront Inko, or maybe to comfort Izuku. The entrance door slams and he's faced with only Inko. She looks at him with so much guilt she might as well just have killed a man. "I'm sorry..." - she says and Shōto doesn't understand what she's actually sorry about. ~ To sum it up: Tōya decided to run away from his abusive household with his sibling. Endeavour face a trial for child abuse that lead to his immediate hero career decline and incarceration. While Tōya manages to run away with Natsuo, Fuyumi and Shōto end up in a foster home.
