You have never had the best life. You had to deal with mental and physical abuse. You gave up on heroes after your parents (who are pro heroes themselves) caused them so much suffering. You even left their home and joined the League of Villains. You just wanted to feel excepted and loved for who they were.
After about a year of being with the LOV you see him. Flying high with no worries. A hero with beautiful red wings and soft golden hair. His name is Hawks.
