Artemis hates the ocean for many reasons. Getting seasick on any type of floaty, the seagulls, sand everywhere, and most of all the weird animals in the ocean. 
But Artemis's parents love the ocean. So when they decide to rent a beach house and spend the whole summer at the ocean, Artemis is ready for a boring summer of sitting and reading all day. But when Artemis meets, Jo and Cam while trying to avoid socializing with other people, their summer turns out to be a lot more interesting than expected.
