A Darker Shade of Midnight is a paranormal murder mystery set in the bayou country of Louisiana.

LaShaun Roussellle left Beau Chene, Louisiana under a cloud. Folks still believe she was at the very least involved in the murder of the patriarch of a wealthy family, if not the murderer. Also rumored to use voodoo to get whatever she wants, LaShaun is not exactly welcomed back. LaShaun knows the truth. She didn't kill anyone, but she did use her gifts and voodoo, as taught to her by her grandmother, to fulfill her youthful hunger for money and power.

LaShaun has changed. She left Louisiana to create a new life in Los Angeles. She wants nothing more than to put her scandalous past behind her. When she returns home to see her dying grandmother, she's pulled into a family fight over money and another murder. And once again she's the prime suspect. She has to unravelled a tangle of lies and secrets to stay one step ahead of the law. She finds an unexpected ally, and a ghostly force she foolishly set loose years before. She has to learn to trust the man, and fight the spirit to save herself.
