Kara has grown up getting by on the bare minimum of speech she can muster in the presence of others. It's not that she's physically incapable, but something keeps her from it every time.
She feels like she goes through life like a fish, constantly opening and closing her mouth with words never coming.
However, when her feisty dorm mate practically drags her to a party, Kara wonders if it might be her chance to talk to Cal, the boy of her dreams.
