You and Katsuki have been friends before him and Deku were friends. You loved him with all of your heart but was too scared to say anything. You two knew each other like the back of your hands...... Well not entirely.
Along with you until a certain age, he didn't know that a Villain was your father. The day you told him he didn't seem to care. When he got into UA you told him you were going to be a villain. So.....He decided to help you.
