With her eighteenth birthday nearing and realising that she hasn't killed a single witch during her ten years of study in L'Académie, Nehir panics and decides to find herself an easy target. 
Unfortunately for her, the fire witch she had chosen to kill sweeps her up into a dangerous mission that involves traveling through the many Courts of Empyrion. 
As an endless war against witches ravages her world, Nehir finds herself desperately clinging to the small group of friends she had begrudgingly allowed into her life, willing them all to live to see another day. 

A witch.
A huntress.
An impostor. 
An outcast.
A priestess.
A mercenary. 
A scarecrow. 
The embodiment of death. 

Will they manage to overcome their prejudice and work together? Or will they be torn apart by the conflict that resides both around and within their group?
