"Mrs. Edwards?" I opened my eyes to the Judge looking at me with impatient eyes. "Yes, sorry, your honor, what's was the question?" The people seated scoffed as the judge shook his head in disbelief. They must have such interest in me, a fascination for an animal. "I said how do you plead, guilty or not guilty?" He asked. The room was no longer filled with muttering, it was now silent. They were waiting on my answer, so excited to see what a murderer would say. They claim to be disgusted by my mere existence, but they're all animals, they're just being kept in a zoo called society, they have to act normal, or else they'll be me. They're all sinners, they just haven't been caught. "Guilty! S-she's a killer! A killer!" I heard my step mother shriek. I looked up to the judge, then back at her and opened my mouth, "Not guilty, your honor." The crowd gasped making me smile at them, they're surprised yes, but they're pleased to know they can see someone like them be free, and they can be in their safe zone. Where they can remain normal, while feeding off my insanity, sometimes it makes me laugh my head off. "You do understand that you're being charged with first degree murder?" Asked the Judge who seemed disgusted by my smile. I was not smiling out of happiness, I was smiling because they can't take anything away from me that they already have. Which meant I had no need to worry whether I died in a cell or not. I had nothing left to live for, everything was gone. So why am I pleading not guilty? I just wanted to see that rats face, I wanted to see fear in her eyes, she was looking at me and I was looking at her. I had nothing left to lose, but I want to make sure she loses everything. "Yes, I do, your honor."

A dark figure is walking towards us through the haze. I ignore it and let Ryan pull me to the ocean. As the figure gets closer, I can tell its a grown man. I stop abruptly and Ryan stumbles, almost falling in the water. He turns to me with concern and quietly asks, "what's wrong?" I shake my head, but don't take my eyes off of the figure. "It's nothing. Sorry, I thought I saw something." I say distantly. Ryan follows my gaze and steps closer to me, wrapping his arm around my waist protectively. "Oh. I didn't see him. Do you want to go back to Amy's before he gets here?" He asks. I shake my head. "No, I'm just making a big deal out of nothing. He'll pass without a second glance." He doesn't let go of me as he leads me out of the ocean. Together we sit down and I lean my head on his shoulder. I look and see the man is a lot closer. I do a double take. For a moment, I thought he looked familiar. I brush it off but scoot closer to Ryan. Noticing, he whispers "are you sure you don't want to go inside?" I shake my head again but hesitate a little. I close my eyes and feel Ryan lean his head on mine. The soft footsteps of the man sound only a few feet from us. I open my eyes and feel Ryan's head shoot up. Who I saw before was no mistake.
