Serra's husband was taken when The Cleanse of the United States was initiated in full force.

Christians, pastors and religious leaders or anyone who held religious artifacts were to be killed or taken captive on site by the Cleanse operation. Ben being a pastor was taken by the cleanse leaving Serra behind to try and survive with a tainted name and a deadly faith that was no longer acceptable.

A family that Serra only was acquainted, the Bennet's, took her in to live at their home in a small town of Indiana after Ben was captured. This emotional story follows Serra as she must do what is necessary to survive, yet what is necessary to care for the ones she loves. 

It's a story of love, passion, survival and a race against time for Serra to do what is necessary of her.
