In the city of Zodio, the stars control the fate of everyone below.

Gemma, the city's future Governor, has a secret which could jeopardize the entire city and end her own life. She has been lying about her Zodiac sign, in reality her personality is that of a dark, secretive Scorpio on the cusp of the firey, expansive Saggitarius. A dangerous sign that could do great harm in the position of Governor, a sign she could be killed for having. Worse still, on her sixteen birthday her star sign will have complete rule of her emotions. With her stars above her, she won't be able to suppress her Scorpio side and will certainly be revealed, jeopardizing not only her own life, but the lives of everyone in Zodio. After meeting a shady fortune teller and tasked with a mission to suppress her stars' calling. Gemma must enlist the help of three unlikely friends:

Pleione - A Libra and Gemma's best friend. However, Pleione is starting to doubt everything she thought she knew about her friend

Saiph - The Leo sun of Zodio's Military General. Aggressive and selfish, most people simply discount him as a privileged bully. However, between the pressure of not being an Aries like his father and the pain of being dismissed and neglected as a child, Saiph has demons of his own.

Corvus - Apprentice to the head Apothecary, the Capricorn born on the cusp of Aquarius spends most of his days making medicines and facilitating Saiph's escapades. However, Corvus's inclination to only every show a piece of himself has become a trap of its own. That's why when a chance at an adventure and a change of scenery arises, Corvus is more than enthusiastic.

Together the group must find a way to succeed, or risk dooming everyone

"I thought I might pass out again, the only thing that kept me awake was the fact that the Sign on my wrist sizzled like oil on a frying pan. At first I thought it was just the aftermath of the intravenous drip but when I looked at it I nearly screamed. The skin around the Ophiuchus symbol, was peeling off, I didn't touch it. My wrist was red and throbbing. I don't think it was bleeding but then I saw drops of blood and quickly pulled down my sleeve, covering my hand. I never saw much of my second Sign since Granny always made me cover it up but I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to peel off of my hand." Belle's story continues as she trains at the rebel hideout, Crimsyn State. She learns to cope with her Constellations and deal with the astrological hardships of Ophiuchus. Along with a few heirs of the Twelve Major, Belle attempts to bring her friends to the rebel hideout and tries to complete the group of twelve descendants to fight against the Hydras. During her time at Crimsyn State, Belle discovers the secrets her mother left for her. She realizes there is more to the Stars and Constellations than her imagination could conceive. Includes the poem, Stars Can't Shine Without Darkness by Inaya Sohail. The cuts and bruises were too much to bear. The world around me was spinning, And the streaks of dirt in my hair. And the light never dimming. The light so bright, It felt like there were gazillion fires. I thought I might go blind For I wasn't lying- I wasn't a liar. Published-29/09/19 Completed-26/01/20
