Howdy
This short story was originally written for a competition in sci-fi. I didn't go anywhere, but I'm still pretty proud so I decided to post it here.
This story falls into a world much like ours, but far in the future. Human emotions are no longer felt naturally, instead they are bought. Much like an energy drink.
This may become a string of short stories. Each depicting a different character with different struggles, but we'll see.

The Redemption of Maximus
The world is screwed up place. Everyone in it just wants peace when it isn't promised to nobody. We work for ourselves to try to improve our ways of life only for someone who has more to take it. Everything is about monetary gain and if you don't got the green you better have a way to survive. Help wont come when you need it. There is no home and having shame is a simple thing of the past. We all tell people to have hope. We tell them that if they work hard enough that change will eventually come and with that change they will find their happy ending. I've watched humans kill for that happy ending. I've committed murder when a tyrant thought to torture the only good thing in this world I have ever found in this fucked up place. Even when I tried to save it, I still lost it. Yeah, you heard right. I am no saint. This world is far from cupcake and t ,rainbows and their isn't not one soul that could tell me different. I have had to fight to survive since the day I lii I broke out of an egg into this world. No one has ever known where I came from and from the moment I got here I've never know any kindness. I have always been the odd one out because I was different. I'm not talking different just because the color of my skin. I'm talking different because when I get well and truly pissed I turn into a vicious monster. I'm not talking a kiddie monster like the one that creeps under your bed while you are sleeping or chooses to hide in your closet. I'm the type that you cant get away from. I travel through space and time. If I want you, I will have you. I have the powers of invisibility on my side, and you will never see me coming. There is no one that can catch me because I can poof away at the drop of a hat. If that doesn't scare you than the thousands of scars on my body and my size definitely will. The Light That Shines From Above
Heather has lived her entire life believing her mother is crazy. She doesn't believe the stories that were told to her as a child, the stories about men descending from the sky to take her. She rejects the false narratives and tries to help her mother the best she can even if that means constantly moving and preparing for the men to come back. She doesn't envision a life beyond this, never expected to leave her mother until she is forced to in the most unexpected way. When the men from the sky take her instead. *** It was a short debate but enough to push me over the edge. Pher was right. I was making this too difficult. I should just do it. I had been fighting myself on this for too long. I didn't care what he was, I wanted this. I stared at his lips as he spoke, my own tingling in response. "I could show you that if you wanted. Most of the other things you can do are outside of the esta-" I pushed up on my toes and crashed my mouth to his. My actions were unexpected and rushed. I could tell by his reaction. He reared back but not enough to separate us. His hand flashing to my arm to still us and then he froze. I thought for a second, based on his lack of response, I had picked the wrong time. Or maybe he had changed his mind from two days ago. I went to pull away, flushing lightly with embarrassment. I didn't get to disconnect our lips before he unfroze and reacted. His grip tightened, his other one going to my hair to hold my head in place as he kissed me back with more intent than I even had started with. My body flushed for a different reason now.Complete

New Normal
I learnt the hard way that wanting to be normal is just wishful thinking. More specifically when I found out who my dad really was. Then again, having a child while I was still a kid myself already sealed the deal on being anything but normal. But I was happy, for a moment. Until I was introduced to an entirely new world or worlds that I wish I wasnt apart of but now its impossible to avoid.

in the class you were put in after the discovery of you having the same powers of class E's sensei (not tentacles) _backstory_ you were born but then...the family was attacked. this happened 3 years I a row with family members dying in progress of protecting you..because of your 'supernatural' body you've been caught once at 10 and tortured by the experiments.... they tried to turn you into a super soldier, minimising your mercy for people as much as possible.. every encounter with you they've had, they filmed. using those moments to make you insane you managed to get a split personality disorder of 3 people....4 if you include insanity...which has been what you've been showing for a while... the different attitudes have helped you in situations you've been awkward in and so while you yourself is inside feeling depressed, the other selves have to show up to take up your place. otherwise you'd be like an empty canister Your hair changes colour due to emotions. some emotions are the same colours (sorry if your eye colour is one of the eye colours your eyes change into your original eye colour. you can just change it if you want to same with your hair colour.) the blue hoodie and bandana your boyfriend used to wear you kept and wore you used it as a disguise to get away from the guys that have been chasing you your whole life. your voice changed so it sounded like a guy's and to be honest, everyone you met In that disguise believed you...including the enemy your family was rich and you had a lot of money, yet you all chose to live a simple life. you still did that after they all died. what you and your family did for a job you continued... until you saw a strange yellow thing in the sky... following the direction of the octopus thing you managed to catch up using some of your power...he went to china for tea? he then flew you back to what he said will be your new class from now on. My life is great! (Considering I'm running for my life from this robot alien!) My life was good back before I knew about the Autobots and the Decpticons. I went to school, hung out with my friends, ya know the usual everyday girl stuff. But then a month after school started there was this new kid. Which I don't mind, but then that kid kept spying on me all creepy like! I don't know why he keeps doing this, but I want it to stop! Then one day while I'm walking home from school, something or someone grabs me and puts a blindfold around my eyes. When I wake up, I'm not back in Jasper, I'm in some alien warship! - Ok, ok. I think I've dropped enough hints about the fact that I'm 'different'. I guess I should spill the beans. When I was born, I had a rare cancer- mum had told me this. She didn't tell me anything else about my birth, other than that the kemo therapy went wrong. The doctors were testing a new serum that didn't cooperate with my blood type. It did cure the cancer, but it had a side effect. The serum made my bones and muscles shrink down to about a tenth of their original size. I'm very small for my age, I have to say. I'm quite proud of myself though- I've grown half a millimetre so now I'm about the size of an artline pen. Amy Leebeck is your average 16 year old girl, apart from one tiny detail. She has grown up the size of a doll and faces the tough challenges of living at her size. When she was abducted by a boy fighting a lost cause, Amy thought that her pitiful existence was over. But as she gets to know her mysterious kidnapper, her dull and dreary life begins to unfold...Complete
