Howdy
This short story was originally written for a competition in sci-fi. I didn't go anywhere, but I'm still pretty proud so I decided to post it here.
This story falls into a world much like ours, but far in the future. Human emotions are no longer felt naturally, instead they are bought. Much like an energy drink.
This may become a string of short stories. Each depicting a different character with different struggles, but we'll see.

When the system glitches and she is able to cry for the first time ever, she feels tricked and robbed by the government, becomes inspired and develops a revolutionary plan to break the system so people can feel once again, and her family worries for her life. I have a secret that I don't share with most. I've been swept up into something bigger than anything I could ever imagine, and now I'm involved with more than just this one world. Our universe is bigger and more amazing than anyone realizes. Reality is merely subjective; we judge it based on what we experience and perceive, even when others do not share the same experiences. When my life turned upside down, I wasn't trying to fall in love; I wasn't trying to get too involved. When my senses all became shared with somebody else, I learned too much to turn away from it all. Her world, so near yet so far away, is something I can experience through her, our senses combined together, our realities overlapped between two places. It's there when my story started. This is our story. It has a beginning, but not an ending. The things that happened to me over all these years would have messed with most people's heads. I put up with all of it, because I couldn't hold back how I felt for her. Little did I know that love comes with a price. As amazing as it is to hear about someone finding their soulmate, it's something that can just as easily tear a person limb to limb, leaving nothing behind but dust. Separated By a Wall
August 14, 3044. It was a future where humans didn't have to advance because technology did all the work for them. A future where children couldn't visit their parents after a certain age and you barely know the route through your own house because your teleporting from the bedroom to the kitchen. A world where you're practically mind controlled. It wasn't always like this. Humans used to have diversity and freedom to think for themselves. But on August 14th, 3044 a new species called the Anoch landed on our planet. The humans immediately categorized them as a threat and split the world into two halves by a stone wall. Humans on one side, Anoch on the other. Everyone seems to have adjusted to this change and go on with life as if everything was normal. But not me. I was only six when it happened. It's now the year 3054 and I still find it all strange. The new life the humans have been forced to live. The way the Anoch are treated as if they're some sort of experiment. And it seems like I'm the only one who cares enough to find the truth. I'm the one who snuck out. And you wouldn't believe what I found behind the wall.Complete
New Normal
I learnt the hard way that wanting to be normal is just wishful thinking. More specifically when I found out who my dad really was. Then again, having a child while I was still a kid myself already sealed the deal on being anything but normal. But I was happy, for a moment. Until I was introduced to an entirely new world or worlds that I wish I wasnt apart of but now its impossible to avoid.

in the class you were put in after the discovery of you having the same powers of class E's sensei (not tentacles) _backstory_ you were born but then...the family was attacked. this happened 3 years I a row with family members dying in progress of protecting you..because of your 'supernatural' body you've been caught once at 10 and tortured by the experiments.... they tried to turn you into a super soldier, minimising your mercy for people as much as possible.. every encounter with you they've had, they filmed. using those moments to make you insane you managed to get a split personality disorder of 3 people....4 if you include insanity...which has been what you've been showing for a while... the different attitudes have helped you in situations you've been awkward in and so while you yourself is inside feeling depressed, the other selves have to show up to take up your place. otherwise you'd be like an empty canister Your hair changes colour due to emotions. some emotions are the same colours (sorry if your eye colour is one of the eye colours your eyes change into your original eye colour. you can just change it if you want to same with your hair colour.) the blue hoodie and bandana your boyfriend used to wear you kept and wore you used it as a disguise to get away from the guys that have been chasing you your whole life. your voice changed so it sounded like a guy's and to be honest, everyone you met In that disguise believed you...including the enemy your family was rich and you had a lot of money, yet you all chose to live a simple life. you still did that after they all died. what you and your family did for a job you continued... until you saw a strange yellow thing in the sky... following the direction of the octopus thing you managed to catch up using some of your power...he went to china for tea? he then flew you back to what he said will be your new class from now on. Heather has lived her entire life believing her mother is crazy. She doesn't believe the stories that were told to her as a child, the stories about men descending from the sky to take her. She rejects the false narratives and tries to help her mother the best she can even if that means constantly moving and preparing for the men to come back. She doesn't envision a life beyond this, never expected to leave her mother until she is forced to in the most unexpected way. When the men from the sky take her instead. *** It was a short debate but enough to push me over the edge. Pher was right. I was making this too difficult. I should just do it. I had been fighting myself on this for too long. I didn't care what he was, I wanted this. I stared at his lips as he spoke, my own tingling in response. "I could show you that if you wanted. Most of the other things you can do are outside of the esta-" I pushed up on my toes and crashed my mouth to his. My actions were unexpected and rushed. I could tell by his reaction. He reared back but not enough to separate us. His hand flashing to my arm to still us and then he froze. I thought for a second, based on his lack of response, I had picked the wrong time. Or maybe he had changed his mind from two days ago. I went to pull away, flushing lightly with embarrassment. I didn't get to disconnect our lips before he unfroze and reacted. His grip tightened, his other one going to my hair to hold my head in place as he kissed me back with more intent than I even had started with. My body flushed for a different reason now.Complete
