Boltz spends her waking hours making the most beautiful armor and weapons in the kingdom of Coruscant, not that anybody knows that. Her master, the owner of their blacksmith shop, takes all the credit. Her only escape, besides her work, is when she delivers the items to the royal guards. A brother-like group of men who actually treat her like a person, with a certain Captain as fierce and loyal as he is handsome. So when the king throws a royal ball and everyone is invited, will Boltz's wildest fantasies come true?

Nearly five years ago, the Clone Wars ended with a purge that wiped an entire people from the galaxy. Jess, formerly known as CC-9976, a member of the 21st Nova Corps, shot down his Jedi general in accordance with Order 66. Now, Jess finds himself a stormtrooper for the Galactic Empire. The Empire is not the Republic that he was once so proud to serve. Jess finds himself being tested in ways he never was before. As the Empire tightens its fist around the galaxy, Jess makes the decision to escape. Jess makes his way out of Imperial control and, eventually, into the hands of the Rebellion. War is all he's ever known. Whether he is a clone, an Imperial soldier, or a Rebel fighter, one fact remains. He is a trooper and war is in his blood. Ryn Alera has only known slavery throughout her life. The last place she expected to find help was with the Empire. When Ryn is due to serve the rest of her life on Kessel, she makes a stand for her freedom. When a rogue stormtrooper helps her escape, Ryn finds herself trapped in a whirlwind of war and danger. Gradually, she adjusts to her new life on the run, and later, in the Rebellion. As she grows closer with Jess, the man who helped her escape, her values begin to change. The 501st march to their own drum. Not long after the Battle on Kamino, CT-27-5555 and CT-1409, otherwise known as "Fives" and "Echo," are promoted to ARC Troopers. As things settled on Kamino CT-7567, "Captain Rex," and his men are sent on a recon mission. There's information coming from a nearby system about a potential Separatist communications outpost. General Anakin Skywalker is once again recalled to Coruscant on official orders by Chancellor Palpatine. Thus leaving the mission in Rex's more than capable hands.
