Scarlet Soul

15 parts Complete

In a world where not even children dare put their faith in one another, poverty and sickness prosper. A nameless boy that interrupted a quarrel between the rich and the powerful found himself, like so many others, sentenced to death. His refusal to speak with the prison guards earned him a beating and confinement in a secluded cell in which he is to spend his final days in peace. Even with the shadow of death hanging over his shoulder, the child refuses to beg for his life. Kayla is nothing. She belongs to two species yet both have rejected her and she has no allies or family left. Bound by a curse she can't escape from and an inevitable doom, the girl rebels against her fate and keeps fighting the unknown. With morals being the only thing keeping her remotely human, the vampire enforces her conscience and insists in hope of preserving the part of her that she fears losing the most. An unfortunate encounter becomes the beginning of a journey that may or may not end in death.
