When 16 year old April Pennington's Only known family dies in a car crash, April was sent from her home in Jackson, Wyoming, to a foster home in North Carolina. As she arrives at her foster home, April does not want to believe her parents and brother are dead. She wasn't in the car, but she had gotten a phone call explaining that they had all died in the hospital. But at her foster home she discovers the Grier family who agreed to foster for the first time. They own rocky top ranch. April had missed being with horses from her previous life but she doesn't want to get herself excited. She meets the Dashing Nash Grier and is attracted to his icy blue eyes and sense of humor. But April doesn't ever want to go through any more hurt in her life. She can't afford to fall in love. She can't do that to herself. But in order to get through everything, she needs to trust someone. Will it be Nash?
