Penelope Newton's life changed on a random friday in September. She is an artist with a passion for acting. One moment she was just an ordinary girl trying to get through her senior year to being unexpectedly swept off her feet by new boy Miles Beaufort and long time crush Grayton Connor. 

Grayton and Miles fight for a spot as captain of the basketball team while at the same time fight for Penelope. Penelope spends a good amount of time tutoring Grayton to keep him on the basketball team while also trying to prepare an art piece for an art show she was invited to by Pratt Insitute, her ideal college.  

She struggles to see who she really desires. Miles is opening her up to a whole new world, but Grayton has been a boy she's dreamed of being with since second grade. Miles understands the feeling of wanting to make their mothers proud, but Grayton makes her feel things she didn't know she could feel.

There is something about the sky today. I'm not sure what it was. Maybe it's bluer. Is it the way the clouds are scattering across the sky? I walk the same path to school every day. I have my license, but I wanna take advantage of the warm temperature and bright sky. I use my car to go to the store and stuff. I am saving money by walking two miles to school. Of course, I don't walk if it's raining or snowing. Just on the nice days. 

The way the bird's chirp and the way the sun shines sends a feeling of high hopes. With my sketchpad in one hand and my morning iced coffee in the other, I can't help but smile. There is nothing that could go wrong. I'm really feeling like today is going to be a good day.
