I'm but a leaf
what do I do
I dangle above you
what a magnificent view
I change with the seasons
My colours so raw
I'm individual in all that I bore
I'm but a leaf so delicate and light
How I carry nature's delights
The dewdrop in the morn
The caterpillar crawling across me
The little squirrel nut dropping
Each leaf to leaf
And when I fall in the autumn light
I will be picked up by a child
And glittered and stuck down
And then I'll become a picture
Forever more
I'm but a leaf
But I am so much more
